After a long wait, the IFA came and this new IFA 2012 brought various new gadgets to us, if you take a bird’s eye view on the event, almost every manufacturer launch something like the Sony launched its new smart TV but there wasn’t only a TV from Sony but also for Xperia lovers, Sony added three birds to the list of Xperia smartphones named Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J, Sony seems to claim every alphabet under the roof of its smartphones, this new trio of Sony is pretty eye-catching.

Sony packed the all devices with a nice punch of specs and features, today, here let’s compare them and see what’s inside, I have divided whole comparison into different parts because it’s easy to know about them with this way.

Design & Display

Xperia T vs Xperia J vs Xpeira V: Comparison

I’m the biggest fan of Xperia device’s style, all are attention getting. As you can see the above image that their designs are similar, the Xperia T comes with 129.4 x 67.3 x 9.4 mm dimension, comparing to other, the Xperia V features 129 x 65 x 10.7 mm dimension, it’s bit thicker than the Xperia T and the Xperia J has 124.3 x 61.2 x 9.2 mm dimension, the difference between them is very minor, let’s take a look at display:

4.6″ HD Reality Display powered by the Mobile BRAVIA® Engine for razor sharp clarity

  • Xperia T: 4.6-inch HD Reality Display powered by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine that provides razor sharp clarity, 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass for protection
  • Xperia J: 4-Inch Display powered by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine that provides razor sharp clarity, 480 x 854 pixels pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass Body
  • Xperia V: 4.3-inch display, 720 x 1280 resolution, it’s water proof, you can take it to water up to 1 meter and for 30 minutes

The Xperia T features better resolution and shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass body, the Xperia J is also bit better due to body but not than Xperia T, Xperia V is best for those who often drop their smartphone to water accidently, Xperia T and Xperia V features same resolution but Xperia T isn’t bettery than Xperia T due to lack of water protection, let’s go ahead.

Hardware

Xperia T vs Xperia J vs Xpeira V: Comparison

This is the round that defines which one is best, as you know well that first manufacturer takes a look at hardware compatibility then refresh their smartphones and tablets with new updates.

  • Processor: Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait (Xperia T) – 1 GHz Cortex-A5 (Xperia J) – Dual-core 1.5 GHz (Xperia V)
  • RAM: 1GB of RAM (Xperia T) – 512MB of RAM (Xperia J) – 1GB of RAM (Xperia V)
  • Internal Storage: 16GB (Xperia T) – 4GB and 2GB (Xperia J) – 8GB (Xperia V)
  • Expandable storage (microSD card): up to 32GB (Xperia T) – up to 32GB (Xperia J) up to 32GB (Xpeira V)
  • Camera: 13MP rear and 1.3MP front (Xperia T) – 5MP rear and VGA front (Xperia J) – 13MP rear and VGA front (Xperia V)
  • Battery: Li-Ion 1850 mAh removable (Xperia T) – Li-Ion 1750 mAh removable (Xperia J) – Li-Ion 1750 mAh removable (Xperia V)
  • Wireless Connectivity: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.1, NFC (Xperia T) – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 (Xperia J) – 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (Xperia V)

Overall Sony packed each device with influential specs, however, once again, the NFC-enabled Xperia V is winner that comes with Bluetooth, other specs are also impressive like dual-core processor and RAM, however the internal storage is bit low, just 8GB, but don’t be worried about that there are couple of ways to increase the memory of an Android device  and you can also use a 32GB memory card to increase it.

Software

Xperia T vs Xperia J vs Xpeira V: Comparison

All smartphones runs the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, I’m not happy with that because Sony should launch at least one with latest Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, however Ice Cream Sandwich also comes with a lot of useful features and apps. However if you’re going to buy the Xperia V, the good news for you is that, this one is upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Sony hasn’t declared the update release date but hopefully the Xperia T will receive the goodness of Jelly Bean soon in near future.

The Xperia V is again winner because it’s upgradable to latest Android version Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Conclusion

As you can see that the whole fight isn’t very fair, the difference is minor, all of them are eye-catching. But if you love to have a smatphone that features commanding body, dual-core processor, better battery and camera, and in the end, it should be water proof and run latest Android version, the Sony Xperia V is best of them, it also perfect for photographers.
